Photography Meets Design

As a student of of photography, studying the science of drawing images with light and the science behind it, I have extensive experience in photo editing  and design. My ultimate passion for design began at one of my first jobs in communications for a resort hotel in Las Vegas, and I had the opportunity to work with Adobe software for the firts time 9 years ago. The best part of it then,  I was getting paid to learn-usaully it's the other way around lol.

Below I just want to show the world the break down of a recent design with my original photography. By-the-way I used Photoshop on my iPad for the design.

Enjoy!

RI STATE OF MIND-BY OLIVER KENT PHOTO

While practicing my portrait/mugshot settings on the Cannon Powershot Pro 1 camera,
I try not to use the flash on the camera and utilize the natural lighting indoors.

The 4th unsupported dome structure in the world! The beloved Rhode Island State House. Nothing special other than the sun shining directly on State House, hence the natural yellow tin on the building. I think they architects intended it to be that way.

The initial concept was inspired  by invisioning the album cover of the Hip Hop debut of Nas-Illmatic. I wanted to express an iconic landmark and some how sculpt my face with a tie-in concept--RI State Of Mind.

With the iPad 2 I purchased the Photoshop app which enables me to edit, layer, and design on the iPad. This iPad version of Photoshop was built specifically for the graphic designer on the go, therefore it's not the full desktop version.
